The slope of Erge in Adjara, Georgia

Discover BAGHI

A wellness retreat
in the mountains of Adjara.

A long, careful introduction — first to the country, then to the village above which BAGHI sits, then to the four programs and the reset that happens here, and finally to the founder. Read in any order. Most guests read top to bottom.

01 · The country

Georgia — an old country with a younger calm.

Georgia (საქართველო · Sakartvelo) sits between the Black Sea and the Greater Caucasus mountains, at the edge of Europe and Asia. It is one of the oldest Christian nations in the world, with a written history reaching back over fifteen centuries. The wine is older still — vinification here predates the written record by several thousand years.

The country is small (about 70,000 km²) and feels smaller. Most journeys are under five hours by road. The food is slow, the bread is fermented, the hospitality is unhurried, and the language belongs to its own family — written in a script unique to itself.

Adjara is the south-western province, on the Black Sea coast. The capital is Batumi — a subtropical city of palms and mountains, served by an international airport with direct flights from Istanbul, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Warsaw, Berlin and others. BAGHI sits fifteen minutes inland from Batumi, on a road that climbs into walnut and chestnut forest.

02 · The village

Erge — a real Adjarian village.
BAGHI sits at its highest point.

Houses of Erge

Erge is a small mountain settlement in the Khelvachauri municipality of Adjara, above the Chorokhi river. Family houses stand on narrow terraces. The older generation tends gardens and small herds. The rhythm of the day is still set by the village — bread baked in the morning, prayers at midday, neighbours passing on the path.

A small mosque stands a short walk from the slope. The call to prayer carries through the trees five times a day — a soft, distant azan that becomes part of the landscape, echoing off the valley walls. Christianity and Islam have been neighbours here for centuries, both lived quietly.

A waterfall sits further up the valley, reached on foot in under an hour. Its sound is faint from the upper terrace of BAGHI, and unmistakable when the wind is right.

03 · The property

Twelve facilities,
laid across three terraces.

The architecture sits gently on the slope, stepping down in three terraces — the way old Georgian villages have always been built. Forest on three sides, a bamboo grove behind, the Chorokhi river below, and the Black Sea visible on clear evenings.

01 · Lodging
Six Lodges · twelve guests

Two Barn Lodges and four Tent Lodges (forty-five square metres, two guests). Each with sunken herbal bath, fire pit and tropical shower on the open terrace.

02 · Reception
Upper terrace

A small reception with welcome drinks, the concierge desk, and the library. Each arrival is met here — never at the gate.

03 · Tqe restaurant
Anti-inflammatory menu

A small dining structure on the central terrace. Three courses, all prepared from the regional supply chain. Opens in May 2027 — meals are brought to the Lodge terrace before then.

04 · Spa cluster
Treatment cabins · sauna · cold plunge

The signature 90-minute body rituals, massages, and contrast therapy. On-site Natura Bissé inventory. In-Lodge treatments available before the cluster opens.

05 · Fitness Arena
Open-air training platform

Mountain-view platform for yoga at sunrise and sunset, functional training, breathwork. Multimedia screen available for guided sessions.

06 · Forest platforms
Meditation · breathwork

Three wooden platforms set deeper in the forest. Used for solo and guided meditation, sound healing, four-hour silent sessions.

07 · Small pool & sauna
On the middle terrace

An intimate pool fed by mountain water, paired with a wood sauna and a cold plunge. Quiet hours, no music.

08 · Viewing tower
Highest point

A small wooden viewing tower above the upper terrace. Star-gazing at night with a telescope; sunrise practice in the early morning.

09 · Fire pits
Private terraces · communal fire

One fire pit per Lodge, prepared every evening. A larger communal fire on the lower terrace for shared nights.

10 · Herbal bath house
Mineral & herb soaks

A small bath house with three carved stone tubs — Adjarian black-mud, Kakhetian wine ferment, and a clear mineral water tub.

11 · Private transfer
From Batumi airport

Private car door-to-Lodge in fifteen minutes. Concierge can also pick up from anywhere in Batumi or the wider coast.

12 · Connectivity
Starlink · full coverage

High-speed Starlink across the whole property — Lodges, forest, terraces. Remote work is comfortable. A "no-screen" stay can be requested.

04 · The programs · the reset

Four programs.
One arrival.

Each BAGHI stay is a complete experience, sold as one. The guest buys only a flight ticket — BAGHI handles the airport meeting, the Lodge, every meal, every spa treatment, every signature activity, the return car. The wellness lead refines the program on arrival, against your sleep, breath, blood markers and the body that walked in.

The reset, in the shape of a week

A standard BAGHI week looks like this — a long arrival day, a deep practice in the middle, and an unhurried departure. Each day flows naturally from the one before: sleep is followed slowly, mornings start with light, evenings close around fire.

05 · The founder

Built quietly by one person.

Ilyan Vladimirov, founder of BAGHI

Ilyan Vladimirov spent fifteen years in Dubai building luxury hospitality — over a thousand launches, eventually founding and owning Eleven Spa inside Marriott Al Jaddaf. The protocols, the team, the operational quietness all transfer into BAGHI. The slope is the new room.

He has been on the BAGHI land continuously for three years — first finding it, then designing it with the MESTO architectural bureau, then commissioning the first technical building and the first guest Lodge from his own funds. No outside investor capital was used to reach the operational state visible today.

The team around him — Avtandil Iremadze (managing partner, land), Zhanna Kira (infrastructure, founder of MESTO bureau and the Association of Glamping), and Hani Khenniche (operations) — has been with the project from the early years.
